Spend some time with Marine Biology students and their teacher at
Norfolk Aggie while earning your Oceanography Badge. You will learn
about oceans; currents, tides, waves, critters as well as careers. In
addition, you will learn about marine mammals, their environment and
the effect of pollution on different critters. You will be able to
examine marine species including sea stars, crabs, sea shells, urchins
and more, and may even get wet while completing some water
experiments! In addition, you will learn about caring for fish tanks
properly, and might even have time for a fun arts and crafts project!
You will also learn some basics about caring for small animals as
pets; and get to handle some, too! (hamsters, gerbils, rabbits,
reptiles and birds!) Not a drop off event. Chaperones are free and get
to enjoy the animals, too!!
Badge Included. Volunteer
supervision that meets Girl Scout safety ratios required.
