(Waltham, MA – October 23, 2024) – Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) named the recipients of the Leading Women Awards, an honor that recognizes outstanding women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience, and commitment in their communities. This prestigious honor is presented to individuals whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the lives of others. Their stories inspire and empower, embodying the values of leadership, integrity, and community service that the Girl Scout Movement holds dear.
The distinguished women share a common goal of making a positive difference in their communities. The 2025 honorees include Grace Lee, MA Regional President for M&T Bank; Christine Schuster, President and Chief Executive Officer of Emerson Hospital; and Lynn Perry Wooten, President of Simmons University, all who will be honored at the Leading Women Awards celebration on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 11:30 AM-2:00 PM at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

GSEMA will recognize National Grid with its Corporate Changemaker Award, which is given to corporations that demonstrate a significant dedication to female leadership development through financial support and service to the organization. National Grid has been a dedicated partner by providing invaluable support through for their core initiatives. They have empowered youth by fostering outdoor skills, sponsoring annual STEM Fest, and contributing to the mission through volunteer service days at Girl Scout properties throughout eastern Massachusetts.
The Leading Women Awards will feature a fireside chat moderated by NECN Commentator Sue O’Connell. Three accomplished Girl Scouts will join the Leading Women to discuss how their experiences helped them leverage tools to create independence, find the courage to fail and keep trying, and use their power to do good.
The Leading Women Awards brings together community leaders, supporters, and Girl Scouts of all ages to celebrate the achievements of these remarkable women. GSEMA has honored more than 250 women with the Leading Women Award since its inception in 1992. The prestigious list of honorees includes those with outstanding careers who have made a significant, positive impact in an impressive array of fields.
