Leading Women Awards

Do you know a woman who is making a difference in their community? Nominate them for Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Leading Women Award!
Nominate a Leading Woman

Since 1992, we have honored more than 200 exemplary woman leaders with a Leading Women Award. This year, our 30th anniversary celebration will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is seeking your nominations for this year’s event. Your nominee should be a visionary in their life’s passion, exemplary in their profession, represent the diversity of leadership in their community, and promote inclusion and opportunity for girls and women. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts asks that nominations are informative and concise. Note: It is not a requirement for the nominee to have been a Girl Scout.

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, August 15, 2022. In September, we will announce the 2023 class of GSEMA Leading Women—four incredible women who have made a difference in their community.

Guidelines for Nominations

Consider including information regarding:

  • Professional Contributions. What makes the individual outstanding in their career? Please include any significant accomplishments, trainings, educational backgrounds, etc.
  • Community Contributions. How long and in what capacity has the nominee been involved in their organization? Do they chair a committee or board? Do they have other activities beyond basic membership? Describe their leadership role, and include specific examples.
  • Why should this person be considered a role model for girls and young women?
  • Any examples of your nominee’s resilience or advocacy? Examples should include obstacles the individual had to overcome in order to become a successful leader or role model for young women.
