(Waltham, MA) Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is thrilled to share that Yarmouth Daisy Girl Scout Emma H. is this year's top Girl Scout Cookie seller in eastern Massachusetts. Emma sold 3,668 packages of Girl Scout Cookies during the program that ran from early December to early March.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches Girl Scouts about entrepreneurship as they have fun learning essential skills like money management, public speaking, and decision making, which set them up for a lifetime of success. As the largest entrepreneurship program for girls in the world, every cookie purchase is an investment in the world-changing business leaders of tomorrow.
At the beginning of the Girl Scout Cookie season, Emma set a goal to be the top cookie seller in eastern Massachusetts and earn all the fun prizes. To achieve her goal, she worked tirelessly selling Girl Scouts Cookies door-to-door, through booth sales (her favorite spot was Peterson's in Yarmouthport) and by advertising on her family's car.
"I love being out in the community and selling Girl Scout Cookies," said Emma. "I am so excited to participate in all the fun events Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts has planned for me including speaking at Canobie Lake Park and being CEO for the Day in August."
This year, 14,586 Girl Scouts in eastern Massachusetts participated in the iconic Girl Scout Cookie program selling over 2.2 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies. Over 700 Girl Scouts sold over 500 packages or more of Girl Scout Cookies.
"I am so proud of Emma and all of our Girl Scouts who sold Girl Scout Cookies this past year," said Barbara Fortier, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. "The Girl Scout Cookie program fuels entrepreneurship in our Girl Scouts at a very young age and shows them the rewards of hard work and dedication."
