100th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage Event at The Edward M Kennedy Institute for the US Senate
The path to securing the vote for women was long and hard-fought. Learn about some of the legislative milestones that led to the passage of the 19th Amendment. Then, prepare a speech about a present-day issue advocating for women’s rights. A few girls will be selected to take the Senate floor to deliver their remarks. Girls will also participate in hands-on activities, visit a living wax museum of some important trail blazers for women’s rights, and participate in a mock women’s suffrage march to celebrate this important anniversary in our history! Volunteer supervision required. Patch included.
